Denuvo Wants Discord, Valve, and Reddit to Unmask the Cracker Behind 26 Pirated Games

DRM maker Denuvo has asked a court for permission to subpoena Discord, Valve, and Reddit, VGC reported on October 7, citing TorrentFreak. The target is "voices38", a cracker Denuvo sued last month for stripping its protection from 26 games, including Resident Evil Requiem, Stellar Blade, 007 First Light, and Doom: The Dark Ages. The complaint lists their Discord user ID, a Reddit account, and seven Steam accounts.

Discussion Topics

  1. Should Valve hand over Steam account data to a DRM company?
  2. Does Denuvo actually protect sales, or just punish people who paid?
  3. Is chasing one cracker in court worth it when the cracks are already out?
