Respawn Veterans' Studio Gravity Well Lays Off 40+ Before Showing Its First Game

Gravity Well, the studio former Respawn developers Drew McCoy and Jon Shiring founded in 2020, said on October 6 it is laying off more than 40 people after its funding partner pulled out over the summer. Its first AAA game, in development for at least six years, was never shown publicly. Leadership says a smaller team will keep going but calls the studio's future "uncertain", Insider Gaming reported on October 7.
