Kingdom Come's Warhorse Wants GTA 6 to Make $80 the New Normal

Warhorse Studios co-founder and COO Martin Klima told VGC on October 2 that he hopes GTA 6's $80 standard price gives other big studios cover to raise prices, calling a price rise "long overdue" and saying everybody is "scared to death" of it. GTA 6 costs $80, or $100 for the Ultimate edition, which Take-Two says is outselling the standard version in pre-orders. The same report cites a survey where 62 percent of engaged players no longer buy at full price.

Discussion Topics

  1. Is $80 fair for a game that took a decade, or a price everyone else will abuse?
  2. Would you pay $80 for a game that is not GTA?
  3. If 62 percent of players wait for sales anyway, does the sticker price even matter?
  4. Should a studio that sells on Steam sales be asking for higher prices?
