SteamOS 3.8.28 Adds Ray-Tracing Gains and Fixes Black-Screen Bugs on Handhelds

Valve released SteamOS 3.8.28 as a stable update on September 25, bringing a major Mesa graphics driver upgrade with ray-tracing performance improvements and better VRAM management on memory-limited handhelds. It fixes black screens in launchers like Zenless Zone Zero, HDMI hotplug lockups, Wi-Fi drops, and AMD discrete-GPU suspend issues. Hardware support expands to the MSI Claw, OneXPlayer, AYANEO Pocket S2, and Lenovo Legion Go, plus Steam Machine firmware 108.
