Active Matter Launches Today as a 30 Dollar Extraction Shooter Full of Reality-Bending Anomalies

Active Matter, the PvPvE extraction shooter from Matter Team and War Thunder studio Gaijin, launches September 15 on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S at 29.99 US dollars. PvPvE means you raid a map against both other players and AI enemies, then try to extract your loot alive. It carries over 60 firearms across a Soviet island, a Central African quarantine zone, and a decaying US city, with gravity-warping anomalies and SCP-style monsters as hazards. Gaijin early-access buyers get free Steam access and keep their progress.

Discussion Topics

  1. Does the extraction genre have room for another new shooter, or is the lane already too crowded?
  2. 30 dollars for a PvPvE extraction game: fair entry price, or a sign it is dodging full price for a reason?
  3. SCP-style monsters plus PvP: genuinely tense, or a gimmick that wears off after three raids?
  4. Would your squad drop Tarkov or ARC Raiders to try this for a weekend?
