WARDOGS Peaks at 337,000 Players on Steam, Then Buries Them in Queues and False Bans

WARDOGS, the large-scale tactical shooter from BULKHEAD and publisher Team17, hit Steam Early Access on September 10. SteamDB clocked a peak of 337,157 concurrent players the same day, but user reviews sat between 43 and 65 percent positive as the servers buckled. Players reported matchmaking queues past 100,000 in some regions and an anti-cheat system banning accounts before matches even started. BULKHEAD said on its official channels it is already working on the queue times and the false bans.

Discussion Topics

  1. 337k players but 43 percent positive: is WARDOGS cooked on arrival or just having a rough launch week?
  2. Would you sit in a 100k queue for a new shooter, or is that an instant refund?
  3. False cheat bans before a match even starts: how much trust does BULKHEAD lose here?
  4. Team17 pushed it into Early Access anyway. Right call or a cash grab on the hype?
