Ubisoft Turns Rainbow Six Into a Single-Player XCOM-Style Tactics Game for 2027

Ubisoft revealed Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Tactics at Gamescom on August 25, a single-player turn-based strategy spin-off of Siege built by Ubisoft Paris. You command four-person squads drawn from 15 Siege operators, including Ash and Doc, across 45 handcrafted maps with destructible cover, defusing bombs and rescuing hostages. Ubisoft says there is no in-game store and no live-service monetization. It launches in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

  2. Does no monetization from Ubisoft in 2026 sound believable to you?
  3. Would Siege players actually buy a single-player spin-off?
  4. XCOM with R6 operators: instant buy or hard pass?
