Ring of Elysium's Old Team Returns With Grey State, a Free Horror Extraction Shooter

Grey State Studio, staffed by developers behind the shut-down battle royale Ring of Elysium, showed Rules of Engagement: The Grey State with a ray-traced Gamescom trailer on August 25. It is a free-to-play tactical extraction shooter where soldiers called Striders raid a nightmare dimension full of creatures. Three classes launch with class-based progression, and the studio promises cosmetics-only monetisation with no pay-to-win. The PC release is planned for 2026.
