Story 02 FPS OC3D - Apex Legends patched for Ryzen X3D

Ryzen X3D CPUs Ran Apex Legends Physics Too Fast, So Respawn Had to Patch the Game

Respawn's Season 29 Overclocked update, released June 2, fixed a stutter bug that specifically hit AMD Ryzen X3D processors. Ryzen X3D's high single-threaded performance could push Apex Legends' physics calculations past their handling limit at frame rates above 240 FPS, causing stutters and occasional dips. Respawn patched the physics pipeline to handle high-frequency CPU output; the fix also applies to other high-single-thread CPUs running at 240-plus FPS. Season 29 also adds Axle (a combat-racer Legend), buffs Vantage, Conduit, and Ash, and nerfs the Axle Nitro Gate's max in-world count from 3 to 2 with HP reduced from 150 to 100.

Nvidia Found 14 High-Severity Vulnerabilities in GeForce Drivers: Update to 596.36 Now

Nvidia's May 2026 security bulletin disclosed 14 vulnerabilities across GeForce, RTX, Quadro, Tesla, and NVS display drivers on Windows and Linux. The most critical flaw, CVE-2026-24187, is a use-after-free memory bug rated 8.8 out of 10. Successful exploitation allows arbitrary code execution, data theft, privilege escalation, and system crashes. Nvidia patched all 14 in Game Ready Driver 596.36 for Windows (released April 28, 2026) and driver 590.48.01 for Linux. Recent reporting has flagged that a large share of the GeForce player base has not yet applied the update.
