Marathon Season 2 Nightfall Wipes All Accounts on June 2 with PvE Mode and Free PS5 Week

Bungie's Marathon opens Season 2: Nightfall on June 2 at 10 AM PT with a full account wipe. Runner Levels, Faction Levels, Credits, vault items, and inventory all reset to zero. Cosmetics, LUX and SILK currencies, Codex progress, and faction access carry forward. Season 2 adds Night Marsh (a darker version of Dire Marsh), the Sentinel runner shell, a PvE-only co-op mode, and a PvP-Lite experimental playlist that dials back player-on-player contact. Marathon is also free to play on PS5 for one full week from June 2, with no PS Plus subscription required.

Tarkov Adds a Nuclear Icebreaker Ship Map and a Real-Money Cosmetics Store This Month

Battlestate Games shipped Escape from Tarkov patch 1.0.5.0 in late May, adding the Icebreaker: a large new location set aboard a ship trapped in a blockade with vertical multi-deck gameplay and a new story campaign. The June roadmap confirmed that a Tarcoins cosmetics store is launching this month. Tarcoins can be found in-raid or purchased with real money. BSG says the shop sells cosmetics only. June also brings a Lighthouse rework and the return of Factory Classic as a limited event.

Hunt: Showdown Road to Hell Event Starts June 9 with a Maxim Gun and Update 2.8

Crytek announced Road to Hell for Hunt: Showdown 1896, launching June 9 alongside Update 2.8. The event follows the rogue 26th Regiment through a cursed campaign, adding new Points of Interest, story missions, and a 50-reward Battle Pass with Legendary skins. New weapons include a dismounted Maxim machine gun, a hip-fire heavy weapon with wide, unpredictable spread. A developer livestream covering further Update 2.8 balance and bug-fix details is scheduled for June 3.

CS2 Cologne Major Starts June 2 with Direct-Buy Stickers Replacing RNG Capsules

The IEM Cologne 2026 CS2 Major runs June 2 through June 21 with 24 teams and a $1.25 million prize pool. Valve rebuilt the Major Shop with a direct-purchase token system: players buy stickers from inside the in-game hub without RNG capsule pulls or souvenir packages. Any weapon in your inventory can now be converted into a souvenir. The Pick'Em Challenge is live in-game now. Recent patches also fixed known Ancient map boost spots and updated the Sanctum map to its latest Steam Workshop version.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Ends PS5 Exclusivity on June 3 for Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2

Square Enix releases Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 on June 3, ending the game's PlayStation window. The title first launched on PS5 in February 2024 and reached PC in January 2025. Both new versions include all post-launch content. Physical Switch 2 copies include a limited Magic: The Gathering card featuring Zack Fair with variant Tetsuya Nomura art. Digital pre-orders carried a 20% discount through June 10 on both platforms.

Fable Delayed to February 2027 as Xbox Slides It Past GTA 6 This Winter

Microsoft confirmed on May 29 that Fable, the open-world RPG reboot from Playground Games (the Forza Horizon series), is delayed from its planned autumn 2026 window to February 2027. Xbox chief content officer Matt Booty said the studio wants to give Fable a moment of its own. The delay clears Fable from competing directly with Grand Theft Auto 6, which launches November 19. Fable is still expected to receive a major new showcase at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7.

Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase runs June 7 at 10 AM PT, followed immediately by a dedicated Gears of War: E-Day direct. The Showcase will include a new look at Halo: Campaign Evolved (a prequel using Unreal Engine 5 with new missions, targeting a 2026 launch), a major Fable showing despite its February 2027 delay, and what is expected to be the first proper reveal of Project Helix, Microsoft's next-gen Xbox console. Project Helix uses a custom AMD SoC and is targeting developer hardware delivery in 2027.

The current free-to-keep games are Calico (cat cafe cozy sim) and Lonestar, available to claim through June 4 at 11 AM ET. Microsoft confirmed on May 29 that Solarpunk, a sky-island survival crafting game with four-player co-op, is a day-one Game Pass and PC Game Pass release on June 8. The June lineup has 11 confirmed titles total across the subscription tiers. Other day-one highlights include Shift at Midnight (three-player co-op horror detective, June 17) and Denshattack! (a dystopian racer-platformer). Final Fantasy 6 and Jurassic Park World 3 arrive on June 2. The lineup was confirmed through a series of rolling announcements across the last week of May.

NVIDIA Reveals N1X, Its First Laptop-Native CPU and GPU Chip, at GTC Taipei Today

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang delivered the GTC Taipei 2026 keynote on June 1 at the Taipei Music Center, formally unveiling the N1X: an ARM-based system-on-chip combining up to 20 CPU cores with a Blackwell GPU (up to 48 shader multiprocessors, 6,144 CUDA cores) on a single integrated package. This is NVIDIA's first chip designed to live inside a laptop rather than a discrete slot, competing with AMD's laptop APUs and Qualcomm's Snapdragon platform. No confirmed gaming laptop partners or retail pricing were announced. Computex partner reveals are expected June 2 through June 5.
