Call of Duty's DMZ Extraction Mode Returns in Modern Warfare 4 This October

Infinity Ward officially confirmed on May 28 that DMZ is the third mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, launching October 23 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. DMZ debuted in Modern Warfare 2 (2022) as a PvPvE extraction mode where players complete missions, collect loot, fight AI and real players, then extract without losing their gear. Infinity Ward describes the MW4 version as significantly expanded compared to the original: bigger maps, deeper progression, and more mission depth than the Warzone-era beta.

ARC Raiders Is Down Over 80% from Its Peak, Cheaters Are Driving the Decline

ARC Raiders peaked at 481,966 concurrent players in mid-November 2025 after launch. As of May 29, 2026, daily peaks have dropped to around 65,947, a decline of more than 80%. Multiple reports cite rampant cheating as the lead driver, with high-profile streamers including Ninja publicly stepping away because of it. A PvP versus PvE priority dispute among the playerbase, seasonal content fatigue, and Embark Studios' lack of a definitive anti-cheat response are also contributing.

Marathon Is Getting a Dedicated PvE Mode and Duo Queue Starting Season 2

Bungie outlined Marathon's Season 2 through Season 5 roadmap in mid-May, responding to player feedback that the extraction shooter is overwhelming to learn and too punishing without a regular squad. Season 2 will test experimental modes including a full PvE-only mode and a lighter variant with minimal PvP. Season 3 adds duo queue, a major onboarding overhaul, revisions to the Perimeter zone, and a new Runner shell. Seasons 4 and 5 target extraction system refinement and playstyle unification.

The free update, called Monument of Triumph, refreshes the loot pool for every PvE and PvP activity in the game, permanently returns the Pantheon raid, and makes seasonal holiday weapons and cosmetics obtainable again. After June 9, Destiny 2 enters maintenance mode: servers stay online and the game remains playable, but no new expansions, seasons, or major content follows.

Apex Legends Season 29 Fixes Ranked Seeding Bug and Adds Solo Queue Protection

Apex Legends Season 29 Overclocked shipped a ranked seeding fix addressing a bug that placed players near tier boundaries lower than opponents with equivalent stats after a season reset. Later this split, Respawn will introduce an optional system where solo players matchmake against opponents from a slightly lower skill tier in both Ranked and Unranked modes, responding to feedback about difficulty of queuing without a premade squad. A 4.5-hour global ranked map rotation, tested first in East Asia during Season 28, is now live across all regions.

Nvidia Drops Its GPU MSRP Support Program as RTX 50 Series Price Hikes Loom

Nvidia reportedly ended its OPP (Over Price Protection) program, which partnered with retailers to keep RTX 50-series cards near manufacturer-suggested retail prices. Separately, supply chain reports from Chinese sources indicate Nvidia may cut gaming GPU production by 30 to 40 percent in the first half of 2026 due to GDDR7 memory shortages tied to demand for next-generation RTX 50 Super variants. Both moves point to RTX 50-series card prices rising above current levels in the near term.
